#list-articles-category-1-880 { --categoryColor: var(--cp-module-style-color6); } Williamson County approves budget with priority on public safety Commissioners Court adopts no-new-revenue tax rate. The Williamson County Commissioners Court approved the fiscal year 2026-2027 county budget and set the county tax rate. “This budget prioritizes public safety and roads, two top priorities for our residents as delineated through the communitywide survey. It also lowers taxes for the average homestead property through the no-new-revenue tax rate, which is one of my priorities,” said County Judge Steve Snell. “In a fast-growing county like ours, it is a big win for our residents when we can continue to provide them with great services while also decreasing their tax burden.” The total county budget is comprised of the General Fund, Road and Bridge Fund and Debt Service Fund. The total county budget for October 2026 through September 2027 is $712,942,615. The adopted FY27 General Fund budget is $405,648,214. It includes the addition of 47.5 full-time positions. Public safety has nearly half of the new positions including nine employees in the Sheriff’s Office, seven in EMS, five for the County Attorney’s Office, five in Juvenile Services, two for District Courts and one for IT Public Safety. Supply chain issues continue to impact the county with several items carried over into the FY27 budget including $6.67 million for ambulances not received in the prior fiscal year, $639,000 for a
